Carlos Alberto Guerra came out of the goal and Elder Palmeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes into the match, Bazooka FC's goal looked a bit too open when Elder Palmeira came free, but Carlos Alberto Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Roberto Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alberto Guerra having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elder Palmeira in the 44th minute of play forced Bazooka FC's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
