Gualter Quadros's late challenge caught a Santos F C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gualter Quadros helped the player get up and apologised. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bazooka FC! Hortêncio Trigo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Armandinho de Sousa went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Carlos Alberto Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldinho Maranhense in the 38th minute of play. Manfredo Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Alberto Guerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldinho Maranhense in the 44th minute of the match. In the 46th minute Osvaldinho Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Alberto Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Manfredo Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Paulo Fantini to make the kick off. Hortêncio Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armandinho de Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. When Luís Paulo Fantini came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Bazooka FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Paulo Fantini couldn't finish the play. With his leg Carlos Alberto Guerra managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Santos F C's Osvaldinho Maranhense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Manfredo Furlan took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Carlos Alberto Guerra to make any attempt to save it. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bazooka FC's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Guerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Bazooka FC's Carlos Alberto Guerra got control of the ball when Osvaldinho Maranhense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manfredo Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute.
