In the 25th minute, Freixal's Elder Palmeira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edmílson Ribeiro. Edmílson Ribeiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. After 29 minutes, Elder Palmeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Freixal and the Apuhy players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th match minute, Freixal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elder Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute Conrado Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto de Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Percival Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Freixal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Percival Pimenta couldn't finish the play. After 39 played minutes Apuhy got a freekick which was hit by Conrado Quintal. Carlos Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The supporters of Freixal booed when Apuhy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Conrado Quintal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Freixal's Elder Palmeira, in the 56th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Freixal. In the 63rd match minute, Freixal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Lima to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Apuhy's Miguel Barros slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alberto de Lima. That made the score 2-3 after 64 minutes of play. Natanael Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Alberto de Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Juvenal Tande ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alberto de Lima was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-6. In the 87th minute, Humberto Leal made a precise shot to the right of Alberto de Lima. Freixal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-7. Apuhy's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
