An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê Rossi in the 6th minute of play forced Aracnídeos's goalkeeper Igor Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valdemar Bueno came out and tried to block the shot, but Rony Guedes slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 36th minute. Aracnídeos's Ernani Rossi got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the game, Tony Vasconcelos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Igor Santana was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ernesto Gomes hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Valdemar Bueno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernani Rossi in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rony Guedes made a kick off. Igor Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedê Rossi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute, Aracnídeos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dedê Rossi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, Aracnídeos's Adhemar Luz got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Barraco's Júlio Salgado tried to score from far away in the 93rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
