La Gaveta EC's Ismael Favoretto managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Waldemar Cearense in the 15 minute of the game. Armando Donato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Valdomiro Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armando Donato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Fernando do Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. When Remo Schmidt fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Gaveta EC's protests and gave Remo Schmidt a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Remo Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luciano Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Fernando do Vale to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in La Gaveta EC's zone, Luciano Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Delfim Chaves came out of the goal and Luciano Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60thth minute of the game Carlos Fernando do Vale who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vale do Sol FC's Armando Donato was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 72nd minute Jonas Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute, Ismael Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute, Vale do Sol FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jorge Mazza fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Cássio Soares succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 96th playminute. The Vale do Sol FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. La Gaveta EC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
