The audience thought a goal was coming when Raí Souto got free with Pedro Luiz Meireles in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Raí Souto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Luiz Meireles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Charles Arósio to strike the kick off in the second half. When Raí Souto came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Illuminati FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raí Souto couldn't finish the play. Charles Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 62 played minutes Illuminati FC got a freekick which was hit by Cafu Massa. Pedro Luiz Meireles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charles Arósio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Vito Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Camargo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vito Brito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro de Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Illuminati FC's Hamílton Barbosa got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 71 played minutes, Camargo FC's Rafa Rodrigues shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro de Sousa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Camargo FC reached it. In the 75th minute, one of Camargo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Camargo FC. In the 76th minute there was a penalty for Illuminati FC. Wesley da Fonseca stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pedro Luiz Meireles. 1-0. Camargo FC's Joélson Guerra got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raí Souto took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Luiz Meireles. Pedro Luiz Meireles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Dedê Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Erasmo Albuquerque fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Camargo FC's protests and gave Erasmo Albuquerque a yellow card for diving instead. Erasmo Albuquerque hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. If Raí Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Illuminati FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
