SÃO PAULO FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raí Souto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Pedro de Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frederico Gerber in the 15th minute. Frederico Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro de Sousa having to interfere. Frederico Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the game, Frederico Gerber lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Pedro de Sousa. The supporters of Illuminati FC booed when SÃO PAULO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cícero Figueiredo hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute, SÃO PAULO FC's Sandro Ribeiro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sandro Ribeiro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SÃO PAULO FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sandro Ribeiro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for Illuminati FC. Wesley da Fonseca stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alfredinho de Souza. 1-2. Frederico Gerber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Pedro de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredinho de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raí Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. If Frederico Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flávio Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro de Sousa having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Wilian Maciel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro de Sousa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Pedro de Sousa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frederico Gerber went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After having played for 58 minutes, Wilian Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SÃO PAULO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilian Maciel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 60th minute, Frederico Gerber left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SÃO PAULO FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. If Wilian Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute Charles Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredinho de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Charles Arósio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredinho de Souza was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. After 85 played minutes Illuminati FC got a freekick which was hit by Nilton Oliveira. Frederico Gerber struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Pedro de Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SÃO PAULO FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederico Gerber in the 92nd minute of play forced Illuminati FC's goalkeeper Pedro de Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frederico Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro de Sousa having to interfere. Alfredinho de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Arósio in the 96th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Illuminati FC's Hamílton Barbosa got a free kick in the 96th minute. Hamílton Barbosa hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. Frederico Gerber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 100th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
