Illuminati FC's Pedro de Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Baptista in the 15th minute of play. Jaime Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Pedro de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Felipe Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Illuminati FC's Charles Arósio got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 52nd minute there was a penalty for Guajarauna. Angelo de Brito stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pedro de Sousa. 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jaime Neves was the one to do the kick off. Rubens Paiva charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rubens Paiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Illuminati FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Guajarauna's Jaime Neves in the 67th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Pedro de Sousa was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Illuminati FC through an amazing save. After 70 played minutes, Guajarauna's Roger Cardozo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro de Sousa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Guajarauna reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Illuminati FC's zone, Felipe Baptista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro de Sousa came out of the goal and Felipe Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Illuminati FC's Pedro de Sousa got control of the ball when Felipe Baptista tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 77th minute Jaime Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Charles Arósio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Illuminati FC's Nilton Oliveira got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Guajarauna's Felipe Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Felipe Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro de Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Neves in the 97th minute of play. With his leg Pedro de Sousa managed to avoid a goal in the 100thth minute, when Guajarauna's Felipe Baptista fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
