In the 16th minute, Válter Abreu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 17th minute, Telmo Paiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zeca Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válter Abreu in the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Crisolita EC's goalkeeper Zeca Secco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Parnaiba FC's Chicão Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Paranaense in the 25th minute of play. In the 26thth minute of the game Luiz Paulo Souto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Parnaiba FC's Chicão Fonseca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Richard Paranaense struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Chicão Fonseca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crisolita EC. After a defensive mix-up in Parnaiba FC's zone, Richard Paranaense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chicão Fonseca came out of the goal and Richard Paranaense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Luiz Paulo Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Parnaiba FC's Ricardo Siqueira got a free kick in the 36th minute. Chicão Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Paranaense in the 37th minute of play. In the 38thth minute of the game Richard Paranaense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Parnaiba FC's Chicão Fonseca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Richard Paranaense in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chicão Fonseca saved Parnaiba FC from getting behind. In the 40th match minute, Crisolita EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Paulo Souto to maneuver through the defense. Nico Xavier was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 42nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Válter Abreu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 59 played minutes Parnaiba FC got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Neto. Enrique Senna took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Chicão Fonseca. Parnaiba FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Richard Paranaense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chicão Fonseca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Parnaiba FC's Chicão Fonseca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Parnaiba FC from getting a goal against them. In the 82nd minute, Luiz Paulo Souto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Parnaiba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Paranaense came free, but Chicão Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Crisolita EC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
