In the 3rd minute Régis Urbano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Parnaiba FC's zone, Moisés Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chicão Fonseca came out of the goal and Moisés Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manoel Camargo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but André Luís Barral made a huge save. After some careless play in the Parnaiba FC defense, Régis Urbano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chicão Fonseca. The Parnaiba FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chicão Fonseca should have stopped the shot. When Ipueiras FC's Régis Urbano in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Parnaiba FC's goalie prevented a goal. 26 minutes into the game, Pedro Luiz Lucas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Parnaiba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ipueiras FC the free kick. 27 minutes into the match, Parnaiba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Moisés Borges came free, but Chicão Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th play minute Manoel Camargo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised André Luís Barral. 1-1. After 33 played minutes Parnaiba FC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Siqueira. Moisés Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moisés Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Luís Barral made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Manoel Camargo sent off a good shot on target. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Ipueiras FC's André Luís Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manoel Camargo in the 51st minute of play. Chicão Fonseca was a little too slow when Moisés Borges got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-2. Manoel Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Régis Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chicão Fonseca was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Moisés Borges showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 61 minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Moisés Borges kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Chicão Fonseca. That made the score 1-4 in the 73 minute of play. Chicão Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Régis Urbano in the 81st minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Régis Urbano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manoel Camargo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. André Luís Barral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Parnaiba FC's Manoel Camargo got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ipueiras FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
