In the 20th minute, Vitório Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulisses Trevisan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Agnaldo Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Rogério Alves who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Sandrinho Batista when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulisses Trevisan in the 26th minute of play forced OLIVA's goalkeeper Agnaldo Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. OLIVA walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
