A collision led to União F.C. getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Tomás Linhares hit a great ball. The supporters of S.E Palmeiras booed when União F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Linhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomás Linhares hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, S.E Palmeiras's Luís Fábio Leme dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Arnaldo Fernandez hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, União F.C.'s goalkeeper Andrézinho Velloso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Fábio Leme. Andrézinho Velloso came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E Palmeiras's Luís Fábio Leme. But to his dismay, Luís Fábio Leme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After 29 minutes, Tomás Linhares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the União F.C. and the S.E Palmeiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, União F.C.'s Tomás Linhares got a free kick in the 30th minute. Tomás Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kauã Eger having to interfere. Tomás Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute Hélder Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrézinho Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrézinho Velloso made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Luís Fábio Leme sent off a good shot on target. In the 43rd match minute, União F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Linhares to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute, S.E Palmeiras's Hélder Paraense dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hélder Paraense made a kick off. If Kauan Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. União F.C.'s Tomás Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of União F.C. booed when S.E Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Leal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrézinho Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fábio Leme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Fábio Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrézinho Velloso having to interfere. Andrézinho Velloso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luís Fábio Leme went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the União F.C. defense, Luís Fábio Leme kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andrézinho Velloso. The União F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andrézinho Velloso should have stopped the shot. Andrézinho Velloso came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E Palmeiras's Luís Fábio Leme. But to his dismay, Luís Fábio Leme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. In the 81st minute, Tomás Linhares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Kauan Ramalho fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Kauã Eger, passed just outside the right post. Kauan Ramalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andrézinho Velloso came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E Palmeiras's Teodoro Cosme. But to his dismay, Teodoro Cosme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. União F.C.'s Andrézinho Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder Paraense in the 99th minute of play. The S.E Palmeiras players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
