Kurumba F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC CORINGÃO the free kick. A collision led to Kurumba F.C getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Dráusio Travassos hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reynaldo Vinhas in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafa Catarinense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Kurumba F.C defense, Reynaldo Vinhas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafa Catarinense. The Kurumba F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafa Catarinense should have stopped the shot. 26 minutes into the match, Cafu Couto notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Kurumba F.C's Rafa Catarinense. Rafa Catarinense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rafa Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Vinhas, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The referee ignored Kurumba F.C's protests and gave Nelson Figueiredo a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes Kurumba F.C got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Figueiredo. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cafu Couto to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Cafu Couto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafa Catarinense. Kurumba F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cafu Couto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. Nelson Figueiredo struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Zé Paulo do Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kurumba F.C. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind SC CORINGÃO's goalkeeper Zé Paulo do Nascimento, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
