In the 4th minute, Rodriguinho Pereira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lenílson Mattos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. With an all-out effort, Coataquara's Lenílson Mattos threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rodriguinho Pereira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson Moraes in the 13th minute of play forced Descoberta's goalkeeper Lenílson Mattos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Cauã Ribeiro in the 15th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Coataquara's Romeu Bertassi. Lenílson Mattos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jailson Moraes went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to Descoberta getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Fausto Coelho hit a great ball. Alessandro Hermes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Lenílson Mattos made a huge save. Lenílson Mattos was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Richard Viana capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Richard Viana really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. Lenílson Mattos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alessandro Hermes in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

After some careless play in the Descoberta defense, Rodriguinho Pereira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lenílson Mattos. The Descoberta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lenílson Mattos should have stopped the shot. Rodriguinho Pereira charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodriguinho Pereira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Descoberta booed when Coataquara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodriguinho Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lenílson Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodriguinho Pereira in the 70th minute of the match. Descoberta's Lenílson Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jailson Moraes in the 73rd minute of play. If Rodriguinho Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fernando Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lenílson Mattos having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Alessandro Hermes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lenílson Mattos. Descoberta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alessandro Hermes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. Luiz Fernando Queirós hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Alessandro Hermes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Coataquara fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. In the 96th match minute, Descoberta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Trigo to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Coataquara were the better team. Coataquara's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
