Richard Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute, one of Canoas Futebol Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Canoas Futebol Clube. In the 20th minute there was a penalty for Descoberta. Fausto Coelho stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Wilian de Souza. 0-2. When César Trigo came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Descoberta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that César Trigo couldn't finish the play. Vitinho Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raí Mello got free with Lenílson Mattos in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Canoas Futebol Clube's Raí Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raí Mello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 45 minutes into the match, Descoberta's goalkeeper Lenílson Mattos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raí Mello. César Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Lenílson Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raí Mello in the 71st minute of the match. The supporters of Descoberta booed when Canoas Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilmar Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball.
