Egídio Cerezo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 19 minutes into the match, SOROCABA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Renato Amaral came free, but Júnior Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Júnior Corrêa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Germano de Lima in the 21st minute. After 27 minutes of play SOROCABA FC's Alessandro Leme was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. SOROCABA FC's Júnior Corrêa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save SOROCABA FC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, João Carlos Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iraguacu's supporters rose to their feet, but João Carlos Gaúcho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júnior Corrêa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th minute, Olavo Negri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ronaldão Bittencourt's late challenge caught a Iraguacu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronaldão Bittencourt helped the player get up and apologised. Ronaldão Bittencourt kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After having played for 59 minutes, Abelardo Siqueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SOROCABA FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo Siqueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Abelardo Siqueira could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Egídio Cerezo however easily saved by the left post. Renato Amaral struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Júnior Corrêa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iraguacu.
