In the 20th minute, Gustavo Barreto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lenílson Mattos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Fausto Coelho made in the 25th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Samuel Oliveira however managed to control. A collision led to Lions FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Carlos Fernando Sampaio hit a great ball. Lions FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when César Trigo 26 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Trigo in the 29th minute of play forced Lions FC's goalkeeper Ruy Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giovani Pinheiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lenílson Mattos having to make a save. After 36 minutes, Giovani Pinheiro made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Descoberta's Lenílson Mattos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giovani Pinheiro in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lenílson Mattos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gustavo Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lenílson Mattos having to interfere.

Lenílson Mattos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lions FC. When Gustavo Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Lions FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Barreto couldn't finish the play. Giovani Pinheiro struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. In the 82nd minute Jefferson da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lenílson Mattos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lenílson Mattos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gilvan Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruy Vides having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Descoberta's Cauã Ribeiro got a free kick in the 95th minute. Despite being the better team, Lions FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
