Seropedica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurinho Cosme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ronaldo Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luizinho Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Maurinho Cosme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gil Salgado was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Miguel Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Seropedica were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 59th play minutes Luís Costa shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Jorginho Ceresso and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 63rd minute, Miguel Quintal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorginho Ceresso was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Ramiro Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gil Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizinho Medeiros in the 69th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, CHARRUA A.C's Luís Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorginho Ceresso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jorginho Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Costa in the 81st minute of play. The CHARRUA A.C fans cheered their team off the field, for while Seropedica had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
