When Benjamim Moura came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Acude SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamim Moura couldn't finish the play. After having played for 13 minutes, Vágner Peixoto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zuba F. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Vágner Peixoto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vágner Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Diniz having to interfere. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Osmar Falcão sped through Acude SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Chicão Diniz. After 46 minutes of play, Acude SC's Benjamim Moura made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andrézinho Carioca was left in no man's land by his defense there! The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Benjamim Moura made the kick off in the second half. If Osmar Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The referee showed Eliseu Peres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Zuba F. C. getting a freekick after 78 minutes play.
