The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronaldo Paulista helped the player get up and apologised. After 2 played minutes Seropedica got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Paulista. Ezequiel Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Mandante's supporters rose to their feet, but Ezequiel Maranhense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorginho Ceresso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mandante's goalkeeper Armando Ortiz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Seropedica's zone, Diogo Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorginho Ceresso came out of the goal and Diogo Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 64 played minutes Seropedica got a freekick which was hit by Davi Matos. Ezequiel Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
