Luiz Guilherme Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Júlio Sousa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Armando Ortiz made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Diogo Saldanha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lenílson Cosme was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. In the 30th minute, Arthur de Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ezequiel Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Guilherme Neves in the 61st minute of play forced Mandante's goalkeeper Armando Ortiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ezequiel Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mandante booed when Tradição Gaúcha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Mandante got a corner. Tradição Gaúcha's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. After taking down the ball on Mandante's corner Tarcisio Guedes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lenílson Cosme quite easily take care of the ball. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mandante would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
