To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ademar Ramos fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rio de Janeiro F. C.'s protests and gave Ademar Ramos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th match minute, Rio de Janeiro F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar Ramos to maneuver through the defense. Rodolfo Sampaio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 88th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Luiz Eduardo Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
