When Danilo Pombal fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miranga AD's protests and gave Danilo Pombal a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Miranga AD getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Danilo Pombal hit a great ball. Ezequiel Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Waldemar Palmeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Cesinha Fontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Waldemar Palmeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After a rather tough play, Miranga AD's Júnior da Rocha got a free kick in the 46th minute.

The supporters of Miranga AD booed when Mandante was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertinho Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armando Ortiz came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Miranga AD's Fernando Argoitz. But to his dismay, Fernando Argoitz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Dorel Plesca kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Cesinha Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Miranga AD's João Paulo Paraibano got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Fernando Argoitz came free in the 83rd minute and tried to tip the ball over Armando Ortiz, but to the joy of Mandante's supporters the ball went over. Danilo Pombal was shown his second yellow card after 85 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Miranga AD getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Danilo Pombal hit a great ball. In the 87th minute, Diogo Saldanha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Waldemar Palmeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Saldanha in the 90th minute of the match. Despite being the better team, Miranga AD failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
