In the 12th minute, ESPARTACUS FC's Jean Linhares ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edgard do Vale. Edgard do Vale yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Dedé Fontes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Edgard do Vale skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 22 minutes into the match, ESPARTACUS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wanderson Capixaba came free, but Valério Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean Linhares in the 23rd minute of play. Edgard do Vale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dedé Fontes in the 26th minute. Valério Sousa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Valério Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as ESPARTACUS FC's Jean Linhares slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edgard do Vale. That made the score 2-2 after 44 minutes of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jean Linhares was the one to do the kick off. Edgard do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean Linhares in the 51st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jean Linhares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgard do Vale was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. After 54 played minutes Ypatinga FC got a freekick which was hit by Hermínio Teixeira. In the 56th minute, Dedé Fontes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. When Hermínio Teixeira fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ypatinga FC's protests and gave Hermínio Teixeira a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of ESPARTACUS FC booed when Ypatinga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermínio Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 86 minutes of play, ESPARTACUS FC's Dedé Fontes made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgard do Vale was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dedé Fontes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgard do Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. In the 91st minute Jean Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Dinei Vaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ypatinga FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dinei Vaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valério Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ypatinga FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
