After recieving a nice pass, Formigas SC's Claudinho Moura tried to score from far away in the 4th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Duarte Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Álvaro Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Cleiton Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cleiton Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Mesquita having to interfere. After a rather tough play, TumTum FC's Osvaldinho Moura got a free kick in the 14th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maicon Valle during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 26 minutes into the game, one of TumTum FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 28th minute there was a penalty for Formigas SC. Claudinho Moura stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Álvaro Amaral. 0-1. Arthur Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Paulinho Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Formigas SC defense, Vitório Maciel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ulysses Mesquita. The Formigas SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulysses Mesquita should have stopped the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cleiton Teixeira made a kick off. In the 57th minute Vitório Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulysses Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ricardinho Arósio fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Formigas SC's protests and gave Ricardinho Arósio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th minute, Ricardinho Arósio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, TumTum FC's Álvaro Amaral got control of the ball when Paulinho Donatello tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 67thth minute of the game Vitório Maciel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Formigas SC's Ulysses Mesquita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 70th match minute, Formigas SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardinho Arósio to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleiton Teixeira in the 71st minute of play forced Formigas SC's goalkeeper Ulysses Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Formigas SC's Oséias Marques got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 81 minutes of play, TumTum FC's Vitório Maciel made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ulysses Mesquita was left in no man's land by his defense there! 87 minutes into the match, Formigas SC's goal looked a bit too open when Cleiton Teixeira came free, but Ulysses Mesquita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
