After 20 played minutes Formigas SC got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Moura. Ulysses Mesquita made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Dalmo Simão sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 24 minutes, Antônio Carlos de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rayas DLP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antônio Carlos de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulinho Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Montenegro having to interfere. Dalmo Simão's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Ulysses Mesquita skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ismael do Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Mesquita having to interfere. Ricardinho Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Montenegro having to interfere. Josué Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulinho Donatello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Formigas SC's Ulysses Mesquita got control of the ball when Dalmo Simão tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 46th play minute Dalmo Simão came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ulysses Mesquita. 1-0.

Ulysses Mesquita was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Formigas SC's zone, Ismael do Valle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulysses Mesquita came out of the goal and Ismael do Valle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dalmo Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Mesquita having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Simão in the 75th minute of play forced Formigas SC's goalkeeper Ulysses Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulysses Mesquita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmo Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Ulysses Mesquita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ismael do Valle in the 77th minute of the match. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rayas DLP's Dalmo Simão got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
