Paulo José Vinhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Medeiros in the 12th minute of the match. Cristian Paranaense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano Reis having to interfere. Fausto Guedes hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 24th match minute, Madrugueira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luís Lira to maneuver through the defense. If Ernesto de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo José Vinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto de Medeiros in the 33rd minute of play. Madrugueira FC's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 36th minute of the game, when Sílvio Luís Lira after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Vespacity FC's goal. Sílvio Luís Lira was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. In the 38th minute, Allan Sampaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute of the match Hélio de Senna sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulo José Vinhas skillfully saved the ball. César Medeiros hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Mário Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Vinhas having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Pedro Gerber made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Fausto Guedes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vespacity FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Madrugueira FC the free kick. In the 54th minute, Fausto Guedes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 58 minutes into the match, Madrugueira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Batista came free, but Paulo José Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Batista in the 67th minute of play forced Madrugueira FC's goalkeeper Paulo José Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo José Vinhas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Fabiano Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Pedro Gerber in the 86th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Madrugueira FC got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís Lira. João Pedro Gerber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Luís Fabiano Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Madrugueira FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Vespacity FC to win.
