One of Ypatinga FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Teotonios FC:s goal. The referee gave Teotonios FC a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gil Araújo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ypatinga FC's Edgard do Vale. 0-1. Vágner Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Edgard do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Remo Tinoco fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Teotonios FC's protests and gave Remo Tinoco a yellow card for diving instead. Remo Tinoco hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Laerte de Lima made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Dinei Vaz sent off a good shot on target. Dinei Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vágner Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Edgard do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgard do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vágner Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The supporters of Teotonios FC booed when Ypatinga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teotonios FC's Laerte de Lima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Teotonios FC from getting a goal against them. Remo Tinoco hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Ypatinga FC's attack was well implemented in the 29th minute, but when Dinei Vaz was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Luisão Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte de Lima having to interfere. Ciro Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Laerte de Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vágner Negri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vágner Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute Emanuel de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dinei Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Teotonios FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dinei Vaz to strike the kick off in the second half. Remo Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Edgard do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vágner Negri in the 55th minute of play. Laerte de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinei Vaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dinei Vaz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Laerte de Lima having to make a save. Dinei Vaz struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Laerte de Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ypatinga FC. In the 77th minute, Ypatinga FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vágner Negri fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 79th minute, Vladimir Coelho made a precise shot to the right of Edgard do Vale. Ypatinga FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. When Remo Tinoco was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 86 minutes had been played. 93 minutes into the match, Dinei Vaz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Laerte de Lima. Teotonios FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dinei Vaz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Although Ypatinga FC had been in control for most of the match, Teotonios FC still came away with the win.
