Chiquinho Neiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Edgar Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chiquinho Neiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgar Madureira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. If Eurico Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto do Vale in the 48th minute of play forced Buyachaka's goalkeeper Flávio de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Paulo José Carvalho charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A hard shot 75 in the game by Tomás Barral from a close distance when the talented Flávio de Sena managed to make a qualified save. Buyachaka's players were relieved. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Chiquinho Neiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buyachaka's supporters rose to their feet, but Chiquinho Neiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
