Corinthians's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dráuzio de Toledo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Fernandinho Soares hit a great ball. Dráuzio de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Fernandinho Meirelles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Pitombos AD's Yan Sá nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernandinho Meirelles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Cícero Bittencourt charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cícero Bittencourt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Yan Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho Meirelles having to interfere. Yan Sá's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernandinho Meirelles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Yan Sá scored 0-3 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernandinho Meirelles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Corinthians defense, Mané Queiroz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernandinho Meirelles. The Corinthians fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernandinho Meirelles should have stopped the shot. Fernandinho Meirelles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yan Sá in the 37th minute of the match. Dráuzio de Toledo hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Dráuzio de Toledo stood ready after the free kick and tried to head the ball into the goal, but got pushed from behind by one of Corinthians's defenders and the ball went out. Pitombos AD appealed in vain for a penalty, the referee looked over at the linesman, but the flag stayed down. No Penalty. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cícero Bittencourt to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Yan Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yan Sá's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernandinho Meirelles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dráuzio de Toledo got free with Fernandinho Meirelles in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Dráuzio de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pitombos AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráuzio de Toledo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernandinho Meirelles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernandinho Meirelles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yan Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernandinho Soares came free in the 90th minute and tried to tip the ball over Edgar Vieira, but to the joy of Pitombos AD's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. Cícero Bittencourt kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
