Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute Bernardinho Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio Brasil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esmeraldino FC's Anderson Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Máquina Mortífera FC booed when Esmeraldino FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateus Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Bernardinho Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flávio de Mendonça took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anísio Sampaio. Anísio Sampaio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After 86 minutes, Pedrão Hoffmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esmeraldino FC and the Máquina Mortífera FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 86th minute, Pedrão Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flávio de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anísio Sampaio having to interfere. Flávio de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
