After a defensive mix-up in Cambuca's zone, Luís Fernando Gaspar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastião Cavalcante came out of the goal and Luís Fernando Gaspar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Urawa Reds FC's Luís Fernando Gaspar got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enéas Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastião Cavalcante having to interfere. Sebastião Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Attila Berkes in the 16th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fernando Gaspar in the 17th minute of play forced Cambuca's goalkeeper Sebastião Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Urawa Reds FC's Luís Fernando Gaspar in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cambuca's goalie prevented a goal. 25 minutes into the game, Thiago de Almeida was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cambuca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Urawa Reds FC the free kick. Thiago de Almeida hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Sebastião Cavalcante didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luís Fernando Gaspar went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Attila Berkes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sebastião Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fernando Gaspar in the 39th minute of play. Attila Berkes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Sebastião Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastião Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Attila Berkes, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Sebastião Cavalcante came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Urawa Reds FC's Attila Berkes. But to his dismay, Attila Berkes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. When Urawa Reds FC's Luís Fernando Gaspar in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cambuca's goalie prevented a goal. If Luiz Fábio Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th match minute, Cambuca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diguinho Fantini to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Raí Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastião Cavalcante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Fernando Gaspar's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Luís Fernando Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Sebastião Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute of the match Luiz Fábio Porto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sebastião Cavalcante showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sebastião Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fernando Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Urawa Reds FC had played much better football throughout.
