After having played for 19 minutes, Laerte Siqueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SANTACRUZENSE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laerte Siqueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute Evandro Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardinho Meira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute of the match Mohameds Club got a corner. SANTACRUZENSE's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Giovanni Seco ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed Magno Costa to score against Ricardinho Meira in SANTACRUZENSE's goal. 0-1 after 28 minutes. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evandro Pereira in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardinho Meira saved SANTACRUZENSE from getting behind. Cristiano Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Ricardinho Meira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Magno Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Magno Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luizão Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Mohameds Club were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Magno Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. Magno Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Ricardinho Meira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evandro Pereira struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Ricardinho Meira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mohameds Club. Jairo Urbano's late challenge caught a SANTACRUZENSE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jairo Urbano helped the player get up and apologised. Jairo Urbano hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Laerte Siqueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luizão Proença was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in SANTACRUZENSE's zone, Magno Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardinho Meira came out of the goal and Magno Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardinho Meira was a little too slow when Evandro Pereira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 0-3. Magno Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Fernando Pinho charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. If Evandro Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
