The supporters of Urawa Reds FC booed when Tapara EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Augusto Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 34 minutes, Luiz Fábio Porto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Urawa Reds FC and the Tapara EC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
