Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Luizão de Azevedo made the kick off and thus started the match. Augusto Custódio's late challenge caught a Academia da Berlinda FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Augusto Custódio helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SANTACRUZENSE's Augusto Custódio got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 20 minutes into the match, Laerte Siqueira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dedê Moreno. Academia da Berlinda FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laerte Siqueira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Deivid Valladares took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dedê Moreno. Dedê Moreno dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 27 minutes into the match, Academia da Berlinda FC's goal looked a bit too open when Deivid Valladares came free, but Dedê Moreno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deivid Valladares might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dedê Moreno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Deivid Valladares ran back to his position shaking his head. Deivid Valladares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê Moreno having to interfere. Dedê Moreno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deivid Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Deivid Valladares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dedê Moreno came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by SANTACRUZENSE's Laerte Siqueira. But to his dismay, Laerte Siqueira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Deivid Valladares to strike the kick off in the second half. When Elivélton Baiano fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia da Berlinda FC's protests and gave Elivélton Baiano a yellow card for diving instead. SANTACRUZENSE's João Francisco Souto shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 53rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dedê Moreno but with some difficulty. Deivid Valladares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dedê Moreno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SANTACRUZENSE's Silvério Prestes got a free kick in the 58th minute. Laerte Siqueira in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dedê Moreno, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Dedê Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to SANTACRUZENSE getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Augusto Custódio hit a great ball. SANTACRUZENSE's Ricardinho Meira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão de Azevedo in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of SANTACRUZENSE booed when Academia da Berlinda FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrianinho Madureira hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. When Laerte Siqueira came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the SANTACRUZENSE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laerte Siqueira couldn't finish the play. If Laerte Siqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
