Deivid Valladares started the match with the kick off. Diguinho Fantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Ricardinho Meira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deivid Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laerte Siqueira struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Sebastião Cavalcante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SANTACRUZENSE. In the 23rd minute, Laerte Siqueira fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sebastião Cavalcante, passed just outside the right post. If Álvaro Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deivid Valladares in the 27th minute of play forced Cambuca's goalkeeper Sebastião Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastião Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deivid Valladares in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Laerte Siqueira made a precise shot to the right of Sebastião Cavalcante. Cambuca's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. If Deivid Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Álvaro Nunes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sebastião Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Siqueira in the 52nd minute of play. After 53 minutes of play, SANTACRUZENSE's Laerte Siqueira made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastião Cavalcante was left in no man's land by his defense there! Augusto Custódio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Diguinho Fantini came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Cambuca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diguinho Fantini couldn't finish the play. When Deivid Valladares got free in front of the goal in the 63rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Sebastião Cavalcante was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 66th match minute, Cambuca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fiori Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the game, Deivid Valladares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SANTACRUZENSE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cambuca the free kick. After a rather tough play, SANTACRUZENSE's Deivid Valladares got a free kick in the 67th minute. Sebastião Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laerte Siqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 71 played minutes Cambuca got a freekick which was hit by Jailson França. Deivid Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute, Augusto Custódio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute Deivid Valladares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastião Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laerte Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastião Cavalcante having to interfere. A collision led to Cambuca getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Thiago de Almeida hit a great ball. In the 83rd match minute, SANTACRUZENSE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Francisco Souto to maneuver through the defense. Wanderson Ferreira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ricardinho Meira. SANTACRUZENSE's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Laerte Siqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deivid Valladares was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 95 played minutes SANTACRUZENSE got a freekick which was hit by Deivid Valladares. SANTACRUZENSE walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
