João Adolfo Nóbrega struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Rafael Braga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barcelona FC. Josefina's Kiko Guedes got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafael Braga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidney Alvarenga in the 20th minute of the match. When Elivélton Pombal fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Josefina's protests and gave Elivélton Pombal a yellow card for diving instead. Kiko Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio Prado having to interfere. In the 25th match minute, Barcelona FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Bastos to maneuver through the defense. Elano Severo in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Virgílio Prado, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Augusto Andrade took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Virgílio Prado. Barcelona FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko Guedes in the 35th minute of play forced Barcelona FC's goalkeeper Virgílio Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elano Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Josefina's Kiko Guedes in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Virgílio Mendes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Virgílio Prado. Barcelona FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Elano Severo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Virgílio Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kiko Guedes in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgílio Prado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Barcelona FC's zone, Elano Severo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgílio Prado came out of the goal and Elano Severo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. During the 72nd minute of the match Marcelinho Carvalho completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marcelinho Carvalho a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 72 played minutes Barcelona FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelinho Carvalho. Virgílio Prado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 78 minutes, Elano Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Josefina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elano Severo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kiko Guedes might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgílio Prado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kiko Guedes ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kiko Guedes in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgílio Prado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Barcelona FC's Virgílio Prado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elano Severo in the 90th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Josefina lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
