Virgílio do Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Filipe Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hílton Garcia in the 16th minute of play forced Paripi's goalkeeper Filipe Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Virgílio do Nascimento in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filipe Diniz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Hílton Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Esporte Clube Bahia's Hílton Garcia in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paripi's goalie prevented a goal. Esporte Clube Bahia's Virgílio do Nascimento got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diamantino Meirelles was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Claudinei Koehler showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 32 minute of play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diamantino Meirelles showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Virgílio do Nascimento came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Esporte Clube Bahia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgílio do Nascimento couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Esporte Clube Bahia's Diamantino Meirelles realized he got lucky when he saw the ball passing the outside of the left post. In the 52ndth minute of the game Virgílio do Nascimento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paripi's Filipe Diniz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Umberto Cruz in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diamantino Meirelles saved Esporte Clube Bahia from getting behind. A hard shot 94 in the game by Hílton Garcia from a close distance when the talented Filipe Diniz managed to make a qualified save. Paripi's players were relieved. Hílton Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Diniz having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, Paripi could leave the field as winners, despite Esporte Clube Bahia having more of the ball for most of the match.
