Alexandre Rezende started the match with the kick off. Nelson de Castro's late challenge caught a Jandiritiua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nelson de Castro helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes Capitão FC got a freekick which was hit by Nelson de Castro. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Orlando Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capitão FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Orlando Godoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zico Beckenbauer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the match, Jandiritiua's Alfredo dos Santos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilvan Paraense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Capitão FC's goalkeeper Gilvan Paraense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Orlando Godoi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zico Beckenbauer was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Gilvan Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. If Orlando Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zico Beckenbauer was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Evaristo Leão capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Evaristo Leão really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0.

51 minutes into the game, Jandiritiua's Alfredo dos Santos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilvan Paraense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Alfredo dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 60 minutes into the match, Capitão FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Rezende came free, but Gilvan Paraense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Marquinhos Romero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jandiritiua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capitão FC the free kick. In the 63rd minute, Marquinhos Romero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zico Beckenbauer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Godoi in the 64th minute of play. Marquinhos Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Leão in the 67th minute of play forced Jandiritiua's goalkeeper Zico Beckenbauer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nelson de Castro was shown his second yellow card after 73 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 74th minute, Nelson de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 75 minutes into the match, Jandiritiua's Acácio Quadros broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Alfredo dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilvan Paraense having to interfere. Capitão FC:s Gilvan Paraense showed great skill when he stopped Acácio Quadros:s penalty. Zico Beckenbauer came out of the goal and Evaristo Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Capitão FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
