Capitão FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Atlético Canhoba the free kick. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Orlando Godoi took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Samuel Coelho to make any attempt to save it. In the 26th minute Orlando Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nelson de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Clube Atlético Canhoba getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Allan Valle hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evaristo Leão got free with Samuel Coelho in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Capitão FC's Orlando Godoi in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Clube Atlético Canhoba's goalie prevented a goal. With his leg Samuel Coelho managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Capitão FC's Evaristo Leão fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 52nd minute, Capitão FC's Jean Fantini seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jean Fantini the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Capitão FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jean Fantini had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Nelson de Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. When Evaristo Leão came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Capitão FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Leão couldn't finish the play. After recieving a nice pass, Clube Atlético Canhoba's Vágner de Almeida tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Evaristo Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Evaristo Leão came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Capitão FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Leão couldn't finish the play. 78 minutes into the match, Capitão FC's Evaristo Leão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Coelho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Evaristo Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Matías Gomes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Samuel Coelho was relentless in the 85th minute of the game.
