Vitório Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Senna having to interfere. Patrick Senna was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Benê Dionísio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Benê Dionísio really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Benê Dionísio was extremely unlucky when he, in the 20th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Vitório Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Patrick Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leopoldo Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, Vila Nova Goiânia DCF's goal looked a bit too open when Benê Dionísio came free, but Patrick Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Benê Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yuri Netto was the one to do the kick off. Benê Dionísio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benê Dionísio in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patrick Senna saved Vila Nova Goiânia DCF from getting behind. Patrick Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benê Dionísio in the 55th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, FCBarcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Yuri Netto came free, but Jeremias da Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vila Nova Goiânia DCF's Patrick Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitório Novaes in the 60th minute of play. Jeremias da Fonseca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Delfim Catarinense went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Delfim Catarinense got free with Jeremias da Fonseca in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jeremias da Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuri Netto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the game, Delfim Catarinense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vila Nova Goiânia DCF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FCBarcelona the free kick. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vila Nova Goiânia DCF! Dráuzio Pirani shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Vitório Novaes took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patrick Senna. Patrick Senna dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Yuri Netto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vila Nova Goiânia DCF's supporters rose to their feet, but Yuri Netto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeremias da Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 99 minutes into the match, FCBarcelona's goalkeeper Jeremias da Fonseca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Delfim Catarinense. When the referee ended the match the FCBarcelona players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
