Juaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aírton Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Benê Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nilmar Tavares during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With his leg Jeremias da Fonseca managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Juaba's Aírton Lucas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Aírton Lucas was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 70th minute. Juaba's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Tales Barbosa's late challenge caught a FCBarcelona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tales Barbosa helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FCBarcelona booed when Juaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tales Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 80 minutes, Jardel Varela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Juaba and the FCBarcelona players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Juaba eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
