Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Guerem's Gláuber Vinhas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute, Gláuber Vinhas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juninho Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gláuber Vinhas in the 9th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ventania's zone, Telmo Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Guedes came out of the goal and Telmo Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guerem's Gilmar Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Moura in the 14th minute of play. Gláuber Vinhas hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute Edvaldo Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilmar Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ventania booed when Guerem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amílton Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cláudio Moura in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilmar Dantas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 25th match minute, Guerem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovânio Romero to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute of the match Belmiro Paraíba sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilmar Dantas skillfully saved the ball. In the 27th minute, Humberto Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gláuber Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gláuber Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juninho Guedes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Telmo Bueno in the 34th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Guerem's Telmo Bueno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juninho Guedes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gláuber Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Guedes having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cláudio Moura made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Ventania's Duarte Luz got a free kick in the 51st minute. After 52 played minutes, Guerem's Erik Santana shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Juninho Guedes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Guerem reached it. Guerem's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Edvaldo Velasco 56 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. Gláuber Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Guedes having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Telmo Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guerem's supporters rose to their feet, but Telmo Bueno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Guedes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Telmo Bueno struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Juninho Guedes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guerem. In the 67th minute, Telmo Bueno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Telmo Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Juninho Guedes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juninho Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Telmo Bueno, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Ventania's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Bueno came free, but Juninho Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 79 played minutes, Guerem's Fernandão Leão shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Juninho Guedes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Guerem reached it. Cláudio Moura who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Gilmar Dantas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Ventania supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ventania would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
