Roger Custódio came out of the goal and João Augusto Damião tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Paulo José Sena came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Catalao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo José Sena couldn't finish the play. Roger Custódio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Augusto Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexandre Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Catalao's goal looked a bit too open when Doriva Santos came free, but Raúl Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Fabrício Palmeira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catalao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Parmera the free kick. After 19 played minutes Catalao got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Palmeira. Paulo José Sena's late challenge caught a Parmera's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo José Sena helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th match minute, Catalao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo José Sena to maneuver through the defense. After 41 played minutes, Parmera's Cristóvão Bittencourt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Raúl Carvalho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Parmera reached it. João Augusto Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when João Augusto Damião made the kick off in the second half. Roger Custódio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Augusto Damião in the 52nd minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 69 minutes, Raúl Carvalho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
