Spectators: 7203 (Terracing: 5555, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 148) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bebeto Tande started the match with the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 4 minutes into the game, when Cássio Nóbrega put in a rough tackle. In the 4th match minute, Sousa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute, João Paulo Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sousa's Ramón Toscano quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Francisco Urbano, made in the 8th minute of the game. Ramón Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Hernani Corrêa fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Imperadores FC's protests and gave Hernani Corrêa a yellow card for diving instead. Hernani Corrêa hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Renatinho Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Gualter do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Gustavo Pereira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gualter do Valle was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Rafinha Couto scored 1-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abel Vianna, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th match minute, Imperadores FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evandro Dante to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute, Vicente Schmidt sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Imperadores FC's Gualter do Valle didn't even have to move. In the 44th minute of the match, Gustavo Pereira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gualter do Valle was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Abel Vianna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rômulo Gomes in the 46th minute of the match. Gustavo Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter do Valle having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Gustavo Pereira made the kick off in the second half. Gualter do Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Pereira in the 54th minute of play. If Gustavo Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the game, Rafinha Couto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Imperadores FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sousa the free kick. Rafinha Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Valdir Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 63 minutes into the match, Sousa's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Corrêa came free, but Abel Vianna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustavo Pereira struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Gualter do Valle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sousa. The supporters of Imperadores FC booed when Sousa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Toscano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute Renatinho Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualter do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 minutes of play, Sousa's Gustavo Pereira made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gualter do Valle was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Sousa's Gustavo Pereira in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Imperadores FC's goalie prevented a goal. If Gustavo Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gualter do Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renatinho Lara in the 91st minute of play. Imperadores FC's Gualter do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Pereira in the 92nd minute of play. If Gustavo Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Renatinho Lara came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Sousa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renatinho Lara couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sousa fully deserved thier win.
