Spectators: 7167 (Terracing: 5520, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 147) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Aírton Moura took the kick off in the first half of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdir Gaúcho in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gonçalo Domingues prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Renatinho Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Gonçalo Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute, Valdir Gaúcho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valdir Gaúcho did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Gonçalo Domingues 14 minutes into the match. Abel Vianna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aírton Moura in the 17th minute of the match. In the 18thth minute of the game Valdir Gaúcho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cotias FC's Gonçalo Domingues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 20 played minutes, Sousa's Belmiro Paes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gonçalo Domingues came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sousa reached it. Abel Vianna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aírton Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Abel Vianna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fausto Xavier went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Valdir Gaúcho in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gonçalo Domingues, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gonçalo Domingues stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdir Gaúcho's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Valdir Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valdir Gaúcho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gustavo Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Gonçalo Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramón Toscano struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Gonçalo Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sousa. Gustavo Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cássio Nóbrega hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Giovanni Paiva was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 49th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valdir Gaúcho was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Gaúcho in the 60th minute of play forced Cotias FC's goalkeeper Gonçalo Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute of the match Sousa got a corner. Cotias FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vicente Schmidt ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some careless play in the Cotias FC defense, Valdir Gaúcho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gonçalo Domingues. The Cotias FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gonçalo Domingues should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdir Gaúcho in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gonçalo Domingues saved Cotias FC from getting behind. Gustavo Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Valdir Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Vianna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Xavier in the 77th minute of play. Valdir Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Domingues having to interfere. When Sousa's Valdir Gaúcho in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cotias FC's goalie prevented a goal. Sousa's Gustavo Pereira got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdir Gaúcho in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gonçalo Domingues saved Cotias FC from getting behind. In the 87th minute, Gustavo Pereira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sousa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After 92 played minutes Cotias FC got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Oliveira. Gustavo Pereira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gonçalo Domingues having to make a save. After some careless play in the Cotias FC defense, Valdir Gaúcho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gonçalo Domingues. The Cotias FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gonçalo Domingues should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that Sousa were the better team. Sousa's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
