In the 6thth minute of the game Anselmo Maia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Galatassarrafo F. C's Nilmar do Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nilmar do Vale made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Anselmo Maia sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Limoeiro Do Norte defense, Ediberto Sarmento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andrézinho Mendonça. The Limoeiro Do Norte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andrézinho Mendonça should have stopped the shot. Galatassarrafo F. C's Nilmar do Vale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Galatassarrafo F. C from getting a goal against them. If Anselmo Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 22 minutes into the match, Galatassarrafo F. C's goalkeeper Nilmar do Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anselmo Maia. Limoeiro Do Norte were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Galatassarrafo F. C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Régis Cosme took the corner. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Anselmo Maia put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nilmar do Vale. After a rather tough play, Galatassarrafo F. C's Egídio Abreu got a free kick in the 31st minute. Nilmar do Vale made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Anselmo Maia sent off a good shot on target. Rafa Tinoco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Nilmar do Vale made a huge save. Ediberto Sarmento took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andrézinho Mendonça. Andrézinho Mendonça dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anselmo Maia was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes of play, Limoeiro Do Norte's Anselmo Maia made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nilmar do Vale was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Galatassarrafo F. C's zone, Osvaldo Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilmar do Vale came out of the goal and Osvaldo Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 56th play minutes Anselmo Maia shot 4-2, a short shot which went by Nilmar do Vale and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 59th minute, Rafa Tinoco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ediberto Sarmento in the 62nd minute of play forced Limoeiro Do Norte's goalkeeper Andrézinho Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anselmo Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Nilmar do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Jeferson Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anselmo Maia in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nilmar do Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 71stth minute of the game Anselmo Maia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Galatassarrafo F. C's Nilmar do Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rafa Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nilmar do Vale came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Limoeiro Do Norte's Anselmo Maia. But to his dismay, Anselmo Maia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Anselmo Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Limoeiro Do Norte's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilmar do Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeferson Linhares hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 83 minutes into the match, Limoeiro Do Norte's goalkeeper Andrézinho Mendonça had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Célio de Queirós. Nilmar do Vale came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Limoeiro Do Norte's Anselmo Maia. But to his dismay, Anselmo Maia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-2. Anselmo Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oséias Mattos hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Limoeiro Do Norte walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
