Nestor Abraão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Jurumirim SC's Abelardo Koehler broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. The Jurumirim SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manfredo Tasso should have stopped the shot. Mário Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Manfredo Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Celso Marinho fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nestor Abraão, passed just outside the right post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Álvaro Esteves couldn't finish the play. 76 minutes into the match, Jurumirim SC's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Félix came free, but Manfredo Tasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osvaldo de Senna during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Félix in the 97th minute of play forced Jurumirim SC's goalkeeper Manfredo Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
