In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chucky's goalkeeper Edgar Rosado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Chucky's Edgar Rosado got control of the ball when Álvaro Esteves tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Mário Félix kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edgar Rosado. That made the score 3-0 in the 31 minute of play. If Mário Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Corinthians-Ba's Nestor Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válter Correia in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armandinho Barbosa to make the kick off. Ricardinho Coelho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edgar Rosado. Chucky's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nestor Abraão made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Válter Correia sent off a good shot on target. Edgar Rosado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro Esteves in the 60th minute of play. Osvaldo de Senna hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Nestor Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armandinho Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Álvaro Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Rosado having to interfere. Mário Félix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armandinho Barbosa struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Nestor Abraão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chucky. 84 minutes into the match, Corinthians-Ba's Álvaro Esteves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgar Rosado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Corinthians-Ba's Álvaro Esteves got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Corinthians-Ba had won after a very even match.
