After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Marquinhos de Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Veneto's supporters rose to their feet, but Marquinhos de Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hernani Bezerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hernani Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabby Rondinone, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, Rony Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Veneto's Joel dos Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Veneto from getting a goal against them. Gabby Rondinone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Veneto booed when Torreao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juvenal Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner ended in Marcelinho Montenegro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Torreao's Hernani Bezerra did a great save. If Serginho Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marquinhos de Moraes took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hernani Bezerra. Hernani Bezerra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serginho Souza was the one to do the kick off. Hernani Bezerra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gabby Rondinone in the 55th minute. When Marquinhos de Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Veneto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marquinhos de Moraes couldn't finish the play. Veneto's Joel dos Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wanderson Duarte in the 61st minute of play. After 64 minutes, Gabby Rondinone made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Torreao's Hernani Bezerra tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Joel dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Galvão in the 68th minute of the match. Veneto's Gabby Rondinone got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristóvão Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, one of Veneto:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Veneto. Gabby Rondinone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Bezerra having to interfere. Cleiton Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Gabby Rondinone in the 86th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Cleiton Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Veneto left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Torreao.
